Dental Tourism Albania Case Study: Organic Clicks Up 647% in 8 Months With an Answer-First FAQ Hub

Dental Tourism Albania helps patients from the UK, Italy and beyond compare and contact dental clinics in Albania. We fixed how Google crawled and indexed the site, then built a multilingual FAQ hub and treatment guides that answer patients' questions directly. Organic clicks rose 647% in eight months, and some pages now outrank the NHS.

TL;DR: We cleaned up indexing, cut a 12,000-keyword research set to about 7,300 real patient questions, and built an FAQ hub where every answer opens with the facts patients want, in English and Italian. Clicks started climbing sharply from March 2026 and were up 647% by June. The pages that win open with specific figures and cite their sources, which is how a marketplace outranks the NHS and Bupa.

The Client and the Challenge

Dental Tourism Albania is a multilingual marketplace, in English, Italian and Albanian, that lists dental clinics across Albania and lets patients compare them and get in touch. Italy and Albania are its largest search markets by clicks.

Where things stood in autumn 2025

  • Most organic clicks came from a handful of pages, mainly the homepage and a few clinic profiles.
  • Google was crawling URLs that should never be indexed, such as static files, filtered clinic lists and contact-form links.
  • New clinic pages by city had mixed canonical signals, so some were indexable and some were not.
  • Patients were asking thousands of specific treatment and aftercare questions that the site did not answer.

What We Did for Dental Tourism Albania

Four phases, from technical clean-up to content and digital PR.

Phase 1 · Sep to Nov 2025

Technical audit and indexing clean-up

A full technical audit, an Ahrefs and Search Console baseline, a review of crawled but not indexed URLs, and a canonicalisation test on the new clinic pages by city. Keyword research and content analysis followed in November.

Phase 2 · Feb to Mar 2026

FAQ hub design and question research

We specified the FAQ hub: indexable pages, unique titles and descriptions, self-referencing canonicals, breadcrumbs and search navigation. A research set of about 12,000 questions was deduplicated and filtered to about 7,300 real patient questions, grouped by treatment.

Phase 3 · Mar to Jun 2026

Answer-first FAQs and treatment guides

Answers of around 130 to 150 words, opening with the facts patients want, with bullets, internal links and dentist author boxes. Long-form guides followed, including veneers versus crowns, choosing a clinic abroad, how veneers work and All-on-4 implant materials, in English and Italian.

Phase 4 · May to Jun 2026

Data-led digital PR and content rules

We produced "The State of Dental Tourism 2026", a study of 10,371 patient reviews across 280 clinics in five countries. We also tightened the content rules: every article opens with two numbers and carries at least five sourced data points.

What the Data Showed: Extractable Answers Beat Authority

A young marketplace outranking national health services is unusual. The pages that did it had three things in common.

  • The first sentence answers the question with numbers. The aftercare page that ranks second in the UK opens with a time window in hours and a day count. Pages with a specific figure in the opening held their positions; pages that opened with reassurance drifted to positions 5 to 9.
  • Every section cites its source. Named sources under each section give Google and AI systems a reason to trust a smaller site on health questions.
  • The structure travels across languages. The Italian pages, built from the same page skeleton, rank at positions 2 to 5 in Italy.

What We Are Doing Next

The next phase connects search growth to patient enquiries. This work is in progress, and we will update this page with measured results.

In progress

From answers to clinics

Linking FAQ answers to the clinic profiles and treatments patients are researching, so readers have a clear next step.

In progress

Enquiry tracking

Measuring clinic contact requests from organic search, so results are reported as enquiries, not only clicks.

In progress

More languages and treatments

Extending the FAQ hub and guides across more treatments in Italian and Albanian, the site's strongest growth markets.

What This Means for Your Brand

Authority is not the only way in

A marketplace outranked the NHS and Bupa by answering the question more directly and citing its sources.

Research wide, publish narrow

Cutting 12,000 questions to about 7,300 relevant ones kept the hub focused on what patients actually ask.

Fix indexing before you scale content

Cleaning up what Google crawls meant new pages were found and ranked quickly once they launched.
